Advisory Board

Warkworth Wellsford Hospice Advisory Board

The role of the Advisory Board is to make sure that the money we raise here in the Warkworth Wellsford area is spent in accordance with the wishes and needs of our community. The board members are our eyes and ears in the community, creating networks for growth. Together they have a wealth of business and community work experience. We are proud to introduce you to each of the 7 members.
 
Stephanie Paxton-Penman Stephanie is a partner in the legal practice Paxton-Penman et al, which has offices in Auckland and Warkworth. She has extensive experience in property and commercial law, and says she is excited to be on the board at a time when the hospice is planning a new building that will extend its ability to care for patients and their families.
Also Stephanie is a Trustee at North shore Hospice Trust.

Margaret Newman (secretary) Margaret has been involved with Warkworth Wellsford Hospice since 1992 and has served on the committee since 1993. Margaret has held various positions in her life including (with her husband Bruce) Director of a cartage business in Auckland, and a retail Business in Warkworth as well as working in administration for New Zealand High Commission (Canberra) and  Australian National University (Canberra). Sara Lewis  Practice manager at Kawau Bay Health and a member of the Rodney Healthcare Trust Board. Sara was previously practice manager at Coast to Coast Healthcare in Wellsford for four years, and before coming to New Zealand from the UK in 2005, she held a number of senior management roles in emergency services.
Also Sara is a Trustee at North shore Hospice Trust.

Rick Middleton A resident of Warkworth since 1977, Rick is a chartered accountant in public practice with offices in Warkworth and Wellsford. Rick is involved in businesses, sporting and community groups. Rick_Middleton.jpg
Jacky Ruck  Jacky became officially involved with Hospice in 2002 when she came on board as a Family Support Volunteer although Jacky has always supported Hospice in other ways too. She lives in Pakiri with husband Stephen where they have a strong interest in supporting the community. Jacky has been involved with her Marae – Omaha since it was rebuilt in 1990 and she still serves on its committee. Jacky has tribal links with Ngati Whatua, Ngatiwai and Tuwharetoa. Jacky_Ruck.jpg
Dr Warwick Palmer B.Sc. MB. ChB. DipObst. FRNZCGP Warwick has been a general practitioner with Kawau Bay Health since 1982. He has a special interest in men's and older people's health, and in teaching registrars and medical students. He is married to Margaret and they have two children, Jessica and Charles. Warwick says he is passionate about practising family medicine and derives immense satisfaction from his ongoing relationships with patients and families over time. Warwick_Palmer.jpg
